It’s been nearly two years since I grudgingly ended my hockey crush on former Oiler sweetheart Ryan Smyth. I dunno. I guess I have a thing for male athletes who play with heart and character. But who is this Andrew Ference?

A little googling informs me that he was born in my hometown Edmonton just shy of two months after my own birthday. More importantly, he’s a hockey player for the Boston Bruins who has dined with David Suzuki and is now recruiting other NHL’ers to the green movement!

I don’t know about you, but all of a sudden I have a budding interest in watching the odd Bruins game.
