Our Origins

Andrea Jones is the founder of Raising Spaces, a small business and retail source of sustainable interior building products in Edmonton’s Old Strathcona District. With a degreefrom the University of Alberta in Human Ecology, Andrea expressed her passion for advancing sustainability in the field of hands-on education and environmental programming. Then, as she acquired a home of her own and avidly sought greener renovation products and information to upgrade it, she discovered a looming gap in the availability of authentically sustainable building materials, and simple accessible information about them. A short while later, Raising Spaces opened its doors to meet the need in Edmonton’s marketplace for an accessible source of the healthiest and most eco friendly renovation materials locally available.
