ecoENERGY for Fleets - Fleetsmart program offers free practical advice on how energy-efficient vehicles and business practices can reduce fleet operating costs, improve productivity and increase your competitiveness.

ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes is for owners of single family homes including detached, semi-detached and low rise multi-unit residential buildings. Qualify for federal grants up to $5000 by improving the energy efficiency of your home, and reduce your home’s impact on the environment. See the amounts you could qualify for by upgrading.

EcoAuto Rebate Program - Canada’s ecoAUTO Rebate Program is offering rebates of between $1,000 and $2,000 to people who buy or enter a long-term lease (12 months or more) for a fuel-efficient vehicle. Conventional, hybrids and flex-fuel vehicles are included. The more efficient the vehicle, the higher the rebate. IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Program is closed. All applications must have been received by March 31, 2009.

And, the Residential Rehabilitation Assistance program helps low-income households make energy-efficient repairs and renovations.

Genworth Financial
Through Genworth’s Energy-Efficient Housing Program, home buyers purchasing an energy-efficient home or refinancing an existing home to make energy-saving renovations with Genworth-insured mortgages are now eligible to receive a 10% premium refund. Alberta

Grant for Eco-Energ Retrofit-

Save NOW with a home retrofit grant – Save later on your energy bills.

The Government of Canada has renewed the ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes program from June 6, 2011, to March 31, 2012, to help homeowners make their homes more energy-efficient and reduce the burden of high energy costs.

Toilet Rebate – Check this site to find a rebate program in your area giving you $50 – $100 for a qualifying water saving toilet.

Kidney Car Program (BC, AB, SK, MN, ON, QC, NB) The Kidney Car Program is a fundraising initiative of The Kidney Foundation of Canada. People are invited to donate their old or unwanted vehicles to the Foundation. The vehicles are towed free of charge and recycled, or resold, and the donor receives a tax receipt (the amount varies by region) for the vehicle.

British Columbia

BC Provincial Sales Tax Exemption Extra savings are in store if you live in BC and plan to purchase just about anything that prevents heat loss from your home including insulation, energy efficient windows, and weather stripping. Other eligible items include renewable power systems, electric vehicle conversion kits, and even related parts and installation costs.

LiveSmart BC – In tandem with the federal government’s Ecoenergy Retrofit Program, residents qualify for additional rebates for completing home energy upgrades including a bonus for earning 20-40 points and reaching an Energuide home rating of 50-60. There is also a provincial sales tax exemption from February 21, 2007 to March 31, 2009, on pre-manufactured ENERGY STAR qualified windows, skylights, doors, side lights and transoms. BC Alternative Fuel Vehicles Tax Concessions New alternative fuel passenger vehicles, including gasoline-electric hybrids, are eligible for an adjustment to the provincial sales tax rate plus an additional sales tax reduction. Both the tax rate adjustment and tax reduction are received automatically at the time of purchase. BC Alternative Fuel Vehicles Tax Concessions (conversion kits) Kits to convert internal combustion engines to run on electricity, natural gas or propane as well as their installation and repair are exempt from the provincial sales tax (Social Service Tax).

BC Hydro Power Smart Fridge Buy-Back Program BC Hydro will pick up, free of charge, your old, inefficient, second refrigerator and give you a $30 payment. Eligible fridges must measure between 10 and 24 cubic feet and still be in working condition. There is a maximum of two refrigerators per customer account. Scrap-it Program – Residents of the Lower Mainland BC can trade in their pre-1993 qualifying vehicle for one of a very impressive spread of incentives including $1000 toward a new hybrid car, $500 toward a car-sharing membership, $500 toward a bicycle, transit passes, and more.

Cash for ClunkersThe Cash for Clunkers Clean Air Rewards Program is working to improve Central Okanagan air quality by encouraging residents to trade in older, high-polluting vehicles in exchange for incentives that support more environmentally friendly forms of transportation. Incentives include a two-year transit pass, money toward a new bike or car, and money toward new shoes! CO2RE – Available to Edmonton residents, the CO2RE or CO2 Reduction Program offers a regular e-newsletter that occasionally features rebates and discounts on energy or water-saving devices. Home Energy Retrofit and Solar Power Initiatives – Ontario homeowners can now qualify for up to $5000 in rebates for solar domestic water systems, efficient furnaces, and exterior wall insulation. Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan Energuide for Houses Retrofit GrantsHomeowners that complete an EnerGuide for Houses evaluation are eligible to receive a provincial grant of up to $5,000. This program is in effect until March 31, 2011.

Car Heaven Saskatchewan – Participants will receive a $50* charitable tax receipt from the Canadian Diabetes Association, and if their vehicle is a 1995 model or older, in running condition and has been registered and insured for the previous, consecutive six months†, they may be eligible to receive $1,000 towards the purchase of a new GM vehicle.

Manitoba

Manitoba Bye Bye Beaters - Owners of cars or light duty trucks of 1993 vintage or older that have been registered in Manitoba for at least 4 of the last 12 months, and are not used for commercial activity, can trade them for one of the following incentives: • a $500 voucher for the purchase of a vehicle of 1996 or more recent vintage at participating car dealerships • a 30% discount on transit fares with a Winnipeg Transit EcoPass for up to 12 consecutive months ($250 value) • a one-year Brandon Transit pass (over $600 value) • a free adult or youth bicycle (specified models from Woodcock Cycle Works Inc. in Winnipeg, Manitoba).

Manitoba Hydro Power Smart Home Insulation ProgramManitoba Hydro will cover up to 100% of the cost of insulation materials placed in attics, walls and crawl spaces in customers’ homes in which electricity or natural gas has been used as the principal heating source for at least one year.

Ontario

Powerhouse Program – Interest-free loans or rebates are available from $2,000 – $50,000 for customers of Enersource Hydro Mississauga, Hydro One Networks or Hydro One Brampton Networks. Loans can be used to install solar water heating, photovoltaic, geothermal, or small wind turbine systems. Systems must be installed by February 15, 2009.

Ontario Solar Energy Systems Tax Rebate Program – The government of Ontario has extended its retail sales tax rebate program to 2010. Residents outfitting their homes with a qualifying system will enjoy a tax refund. More info.

Ontario Net Metering – If you live in Ontario and have a solar electric system, you can feed it back to the grid for an equivalent credit on your utility bill. To get hooked up, you will need to work with your local utility company. Details.

Solar Water Heating Program – Through this program, you will receive substantial savings on the purchase and installation of your own solar water heater. Then, once the unit is installed, you can qualify to put even more money back into your pocket with federal and provincial government incentives. Financing as low as $56/mo is also available. System must be installed before the end of 2010.

Quebec Geothermal System Purchase and Installation Grant If you decide on a geothermal system, you can get a grantof $2800 from Hydro-Québec. Additional financial assistance is available through the Novoclimat and Rénoclimat programs of Québec’s Agence de l’efficacité énergétique.

Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia Solar Water Heating Rebate According to the Canadian Solar Industries Association, participants of the Nova Scotia Energuide for Houses program “can receive a rebate of 10% of the installed cost of a solar water heating system for new residential or commercial use (up to $5,000 including HST). Systems include those used for domestic use, process use, space heating and year-round pool heating.”

Nova Scotia’s Steer Clean – The goal is to remove some of the older – 1995-and-older – vehicles from Nova Scotia’s roads as they produce significantly higher health-impacting emissions than newer cars. Participants can choose from a range of exciting benefits including tax credits, bike helmets, transit passes, and even fitness passes. The site also has a truly handy link section on greener transportation topics.

New Brunswick

Vehicle Scrappage – The New Brunswick Lung Association runs this voluntary program that reduces polluting vehicle emissions by encouraging owners of 1995 or older vehicles to use less polluting means of transportation. Incentives like transit passes and newer car discounts are provided to qualified vehicle owners who scrap their 1995 or older vehicle under the program.

Energy Efficiency Retrofit Program for Low-income HouseholdsLow-income homeowners and landlords are eligible for grants to replace heating systems, seal air leaks, and upgrade ventilation systems, insulation, windows and doors. Assistance for homeowners is in the form of a non-repayable grant and a repayable loan up to $4,500 per unit.

Existing Homes Energy Efficiency Upgrades ProgramThe Government of New Brunswick provides either an interest-free loan of up to $10,000 or a rebate of up to 20% of the cost of renovations (including harmonized sales tax) up to a maximum rebate of $2,000 to owners of single-family homes who undertake renovations that improve the energy efficiency rating of their home.

PEI

PEI Energy Efficiency Loan Program
When you complete an ecoEnergy audit, you may obtain financing for recommended upgrades up to $10,000 at 6% interest. Those who qualify for the ecoEnergy audit assistance program may get their interest waived.

PEI Energy Efficiency Grant Program
When you implement upgrades recommended in your ecoEnergy audit, you may qualify for a rebate on the PST and GST paid on those upgrades up to a maximum of $1500.

PEI Windows and Doors Grant Program
Clients who install qualified windows and doors (those that are Energy Star and that are suited to the PEI climate) may receive a $30 rebate per qualified window and door installed.

PEI PST Rebate For Renewable Energy – Not only is Solar equipment PST-free in PEI, but so is wind power, biogas, geothermal, and drainwater heat recovery equipment. So supportive is the government of PEI that rebates are retroactive to April 8, 2005!

PEI Watt-meter Loan Program – Detect the energy loads in your home that are costing you money without even being in use by borrowing a watt-meter from the library.
